Are You at an Impasse?

Commuters

My quote today is from Ralph Waldo Emerson..

“Don’t go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”

This seems a different take on Scott M Peck’s quote about taking the “path less travelled” and one we have probably all read many times.

The question remains, do we forge a new path and risk failure or tread after the herd and step in what they leave behind?

  1. Christine, this reminded me of my all time favorite poem by Robert Frost, “The Road Not Taken.” The last stanza goes like this:

I shall be telling this with a sigh
    Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I–
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

You sound like a go AGAINST the flow kind of person! I love that!

    • Thank you for the great quote by Robert Frost and I have copied it down to read again and again. Yes, going against the flow, being authentic and true to our own nature is the only way to go. By allowing our true light to shine we can show our authentic selves and that is so appealing. “Against the flow” people are fun Patsy, and you are no exception. 🙂

      • I posted the whole poem and a great picture I found on my blog! Check it out!
Yeah, I’ve always thought of myself as a “maverick.” I’ve never wanted to do anything the conventional way. 🙂
